#3: How might we learn from COVID-19 to reimagine our future for life, work, learning and play?

Project Description

A scheduled list of daily activities that are specifically planned out for the children and elderly. Fully utilizing their time during the homestay with purpose. Families can use this time to bond with their family members with the activities available on the site. In that case, working adults who work from home do not have to worry about how to keep their children busy during the circuit breaker at the same time keeping their elderly in action, to pass through the day.

Criteria #1: Value

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, many working adults and children are required to work and study from home. Apart from children, many of these working adults are also accompanied by elderlies. Working adults face an issue of juggling work and keeping the children and elderly occupied.

Criteria #2: Inspiration

Online learning sites for kids/elderlies
– Making use of the site to allow parents to download learning activities for their kids, to bond together while staying home. Allow them to download daily activities to immerse into.
– Elderly can also access the system site for interesting topics to better utilize their time at home
– VR can be medium for this service to intrigue children’s curiosity
– Collaboration with GOV department, to release weekly or daily schedules of activities.

Criteria #3: Impact

By having this website, it allows people to spend their time productively during the circuit breaker. Keeping the children occupied with daily bonding and learning activities, keeping them active daily. Elderly can be part of the picture by being part of the activities too. The site may also allow them to keep their skills and knowledge up to date. This system aims to evoke happiness and family bonding despite the pandemic.

Upon Approval > Design development/content acquisition(8 weeks) > Prototype(2 weeks) > Site Testing(2 weeks) > Refinements(2 weeks) > Final Launch

Criteria #5: Systems Thinking

Online children learning centers, children learning kits providers and distributors, elderly skills future contents can all be stakeholders for the system. The system aims to create an ecosystem to benefit homebound elderly and children with its purpose.
